“So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.” (Joshua 3:14-17 NASB)
This is this week’s Sunday Share! I used the exclamation point because I am excited to share some points of interest from Rev. M.R. King’s sermon at Salt Of The Earth Church (Indianapolis) this past Sunday. Now, before going any further, if you have not already done so, stop and read the text above.
Now that you have read the text, the points that follow should make sense to you. They should be profitable for you, since they should impact your walk by faith and not by sight. The sermon title was, “He’ll Do It Again!” Here are SOME of the points that speak specifically to you and me.
- God’s intervention in our lives is not a one-time thing. He’ll do it again!
- Stop worrying about your crisis, your conditions, and your circumstances. There is no crisis, no condition, and no circumstance that our God cannot handle. Your experience with God ought to have taught you, He’ll do it again!
- Even if your conditions seem worse than the last time you faced a similar condition, God can still work it out! (A shout of “Praise God” goes right here!) Trust Him! He’ll do it again!
- Crossing the Jordan was different from crossing the Red Sea. In the case of the latter, the waters were parted before the Israelites set one foot on dry land. In the case of the former, the priest had to step in the torrential, raging flow of the Jordan river first! In case you missed the point, know that sometimes our faith in what we can’t see has to come before the miracle. In such instances, faith moves before the Divine intervention. (Stop and think how you need to apply that point in your life, my friend. I’ll do the same.) Oh, remember He may not do it like you would expect, but He’ll do it again!”
- When you live like you know, “He’ll do it again,” others will see your faith and walk on their dry land that I will just call what Grandma used to call “Better!”
- When it is time to move, move. Don’t stay in your “tent!” (You and I have to identify our personal tents! Amen! But again, take the advice, “Don’t stay in your tent!” Move in faith believing, He’ll do it again!
- As a believer, use Christ on Calvary as a model. You see, Jesus looked at certain victory and not the challenge of the cross!
I listened up Sunday and I want to lift somebody else up with this Sunday Share. I had ear to hear Sunday, and I am counting on someone hearing what I have conveyed this morning. I hope that was the case. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Be blessed!
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
Amen, He’ll do it again
Yes, He will! Bless you!
