PRAYING FOR THE NEXT GENERATIONS

“After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel. The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight and served the images of Baal. They abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They went after other gods, worshiping the gods of the people around them. And they angered the Lord. They abandoned the Lord.” Judges 2:10-13a NLT Version)

Join me in praying for the next generations, meaning those who are in one of the age classifications below the Baby-Boomers generation. Baby-Boomers are individuals who were born between 1844 and 1964. So, pray for all those who were born after that period. Specifically, pray that they will not be like the generation described in the opening verses, a generation that grew up and did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the great things He has done for His people.

I just asked for you to pray with me for these next generations, but you know what? (Say, “What?) Praying is not enough! Therefore, instead of just asking you to do some praying, let me ask you to actively impact the changing of direction of those in these next generations. How so? I’ll tell you! Help them to know the Lord our God. Oppose the wrong images that our put in their mind by helping them have a right image of God and how He should we should have reverence for Him. Call out their false gods. Call to their attention the great things that God has done for them. Call to their attention that they are only living today because of God’s grace and mercy. Call out to them, sharing that they don’t have to be like the people around them who do not know God to be considered “somebody.” Point to the fact that their lives do not have to be a mirrored image of what is popular among many people, but disliked by the Perfect One, the Lord our God. Call out the impact of a generation’s ungodly ways, how it will make things worse for succeeding generations. Call out the words of Jesus in the verses below!

Do these things, my friend, and perhaps we can cause those generations that are drifting away from God, abandoning Him, to reverse their course and align themselves with the ways of our Almighty, Sovereign Creator. When the latter occurs, the consequences are better, the culture in your part of the world will be better in the sight of the Lord, and the continuation of people, families, and individuals who follow God will be not decline at the speedy velocity we are witnessing today.

In summary, yes, do some praying for the next generations. But also, do some persuasion by your words and your witnessed ways, communicating that God is still God and He deserves that we let Him lead us and guide us. Have a wonderful Wednesday! Be blessed!

“One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:35-37 New International Version)

  1. Praying for the next generations is a “must needs” admonishment. Prayer changes things. While I always doubt my ability to help someone change, it is not I that will make the change or even witness the change. God will give the increase.

    1. Keep on praying! Yes! Keep on planting! Yes! Keep on asking God to give the increase of young Christians who can spread light in this dark world. Thanks you, as always, for your response!

  2. Lord, we lift up the next generation to You with hearts full of hope. We they would be filled with your spirit, walk in love and truth, and discover their unique purpose IN YOU from a young age. Help the current generation, to model faithfulness and passion for You,so they might see Your goodness and be inspired to follow Your path for generations to come. In the name of Jesus Amen💜
