“Give us this day our daily bread.” (Matthew 6:11 KJV)
I searched the Guinness World Records to see if I could find the owner of the bakery that holds the record for having the biggest selection of a variety of breads. Granted I did not continue my search when I kept seeing records about the biggest loaf of bread, the longest loaf of bread, the most cupcakes cooked in a day, the bakery that donated the most baked goods in a day, and the longest line of breads (7, 370 breads lined up on adjacent tables). The latter took four different bakeries in Yucatan, Mexico to achieve this record in 2020. After dedicating valuable time to my search with no exact success, I concluded that I might as will move to making my point quickly. Afterall, we have somewhere to be this morning, at the Lord’s house where we will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Right?
And when you get there, if we have not done so already, while you are waiting for service to begin (because I know you will be there early, before start time), borrow the words from Jesus’ model prayer. “Give us this day our daily bread.” Get more specific and ask the Lord to give you exactly what you need from His word to sustain you, strengthen you, and/or stimulate your faith to the point that new spiritual growth is experienced by you personally. If Guinness really wants to set the record straight; if Guinness really wants to get it right, when it comes to the biggest selection of a variety of breads, they must acknowledge that the record belongs to God. It is an unending record. And, He has unlimited types of bread in His storehouse, an amount that will never be equaled or eventually surpassed…not ever! Knowing this, be encouraged, for the Lord will send you the specific word, some bread from above today! He will send you just what you need when you make your way to the assembly of the saints. Yes! He will hear your prayer and give you your daily bread. Enjoy the service! Consume the bread He sends and be filled on this Sunday morning. From His great variety of breads, taste and see that the Lord is good! Be blessed!
