“Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” “O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.” Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’” (Ezekiel 37:3-10 NLT)
As a student in the Adult Sunday School Class at a couple of days ago, I made these comments and I was not joking either, “You realize that you are getting older on your first trip from the bedroom down the hall most mornings. No longer do we jump out of bed full of energy and ready to go. Our body’s seemed to be expressing an inarguable feeling, screaming, “Not awake!” Well perhaps I am the only one that gets up walking like John Wayne or stumbling like a background dancer in the Thriller video. Maybe you have not gotten there yet, but just live a little bit longer. You will see that your stroll or roll to the bathroom or the kitchen does not start out with a lot of pep as you had in younger days. But at the proper time, your body will feel revived as the Lord renews your strength. You will feel a sense of new life.
Now, put on your spiritual thinking cap, and ponder on these words. After you have been on the battlefield for the Lord for a few years, you will have those days where you surely need the Lord to revive your spiritual strength. This is true for you on a personal basis, for all believers, and as it applies to your local church. In the latter sense, think of yourself as part of the body of Christ, a part that needs to be re-connected and re-energized by God to return to being a real, vibrant, victory-gaining, valid, vibrant, part of our kingdom building efforts.
As Christians, being revived should not take much as we mature in Christ. It should be diametrically the opposite, different from the way we feel when age takes its toll on our physical bodies, and we experience that not awake feeling. What I am saying is the longer we are in Christ, I mean really staying in Christ, our souls will not need as much reviving as when we were younger, and we will find ourselves not only walking or rolling on, but we will find ourselves running or rapidly rolling relentlessly, from a spiritual perspective, the Christian race set before us with much determination. Will we still need to depend on the word of God to sustain us? Absolutely!
Hopefully, even at this very moment, you not only feel sustained, but strengthened to get going and reveal your daily revived experience, being in a God-conscious manner. Wake up and have a wonderful day! Be blessed!
“Wake up and strengthen and reaffirm what remains [of your faithful commitment to Me], which is about to die; for I have not found [any of] your deeds completed in the sight of My God or meeting His requirements.” (Revelation 3:2 The Amplified Bible)
Still committed to the climb,
