SIMPLY A SATURDAY QUOTE

“The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” (Romans 5:20 -6:2 NIV)

It’s Saturday and many people, not you of course, feel it is their rightful day to escape from the demands of the rigorous workweek, and unfortunately the demand to live righteously. Being entertained, buying in on escaping the normal routine, and being enticed by the things that bring happiness will flood the minds of many folks on Saturday, not you of course. I’m speaking about Saturday, but actually, it starts on Friday nights, as I can recall from days gone by. I should have not said that, right. Ha! Could have got away with saying, “So, I have heard.” “Ha”, again!

Knowing that weekends temptations can lead to taking wrong turns and making wrong choices, primarily because of either physical exhaustion, the persistent idea of a need to relieve stress, the prevailing options promoted by the worldly, and the perpetuated rationalization where people think Saturday is “My Day”, I simply have a Saturday quote for somebody, not you of course for what I described you will avoid, but here is a quote for somebody from Adam Clarke, a British Methodist Theologian who was born in the early 1760’s and was called home to be with the Lord in 1832. Here is the quote:

God’s grace is not a license to sin, but a transformative power that enable us to overcome our sinful nature.”

Think about this Saturday quote, along with the verses above and below. Let them speak to your heart. Some folks, not all, not you of course, they forget that their behavior should be unchanging on any day of the week, including Saturday, and not unlike the holy conduct displayed on the Lord’s Day, which is tomorrow, by the way. I hope “Simply a Saturday Quote” is beneficial to somebody you share this meditation with today. There are some who need to definitely read this, not you of course. Play it forward. Now, as for you, my friend, keep walking by faith. Of course you will!  Please God!  Be blessed!”

You can never please God without faith, without depending on him.” (Hebrews 11:6a The Living Bible)
