STARTING THE DAY ON A HIGH NOTE

“This [day in which God has saved me] is the day which the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 Amplified Bible)

After I had completed writing the meditation yesterday, Thursday, I used the feature of my version of Word called “Editor.”  Some of the older versions of Word don’t have this feature, just “Spellcheck.”  Up until yesterday, the “Editor” had only pointed to suggested corrections or gave me an okay if no errors were found.  But yesterday, I received feedback in a different form, resembling the grading process in school.  It awarded me with 100%!

Do you remember how happy we were when we got a 100 in school on a quiz, a weekly test, or perhaps even a final exam?  When we got our graded work back with the positive feedback at the top of the front page, “100,” we made sure to show that paper to our parents.  Not all graded papers had that privilege.  But especially as elementary students, we made sure that the “100” paper was put on the front of the refrigerator, allowing us to be proud and to rejoice pretty much, gloat for a few days.  Let’s be for real.  Like I admitted, not all graded papers made it out of our notebooks.  Some remained in our school folder with short pockets until semester end.  But those “100” papers did!  Afterall, it was a high note in our academic pursuits, and we wanted to celebrate and or be celebrated, flooded with compliments.  I just have to insert this side note for your amusement.  One of my sons when he heard of one of his siblings getting a “B,” he said, “Let me see!  I have never seen one of those before.”  Yes, Little Mark, “Chicago Mark,” if you are reading this you know I’m telling the truth.  Thank God for all your “100s” and “A” papers!  You almost forced me to buy a second refrigerator!  Jajajajajajaja! (Spanish for Hahahahahahaha!”)

Let me start your day on a high note.  The Lord is well pleased with your faithfulness that you have demonstrated throughout this week!  The Lord is smiling on how your life testified by your actions and reactions,  that you have truly been born again!  The Lord is so delighted with the multiple times you passed your tests and did not yield to temptation this week.  God Almighty is happy that everywhere you went this week, you let your little light shine.  He is giving you a “100” to hang on you imaginary Christian Walk Brand refrigerator for doing so well, not getting into troubling places or tight sinful spaces and for taking the option to steer away from gossip, and for loving one another!  Be celebrated!  Start your day on a high note!

Now pause and reflect a minute!  Don’t you feel good right now?  Didn’t this start your day off on a high note and, even going a little bit further, didn’t it encourage you to strive for some more “100” scores this week and the days of your life that lay ahead?  Sure it did!  Enjoy your Friday!  Be blessed!

“Well done, good and faithful servant!” (Matthew 25:21 AMP)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
