“So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.” (I Peter 1:13 NLT)
Sunday, following church service and after dinner, I laid on bed to relax while watching a movie. Relaxing turned into sleeping, but not until I watched part of the movie. The movie was about a young man’s challenging effort to be part of a K-9 State Trooper force. He started out on probation. His commanding officer gave him the following advice, “Stay ready and you will be ready.” Of course, the commander was referring to the fact that you never know when the probationary officer’s service would be called upon.
The advice given by the commander is not just appropriate for K-9 units. It is appropriate for us too. We must be ready to handle every situation that we face each day; ready to successfully carry out our duties, and ready to serve. On top of that, we must be ready when the Lord returns and that readiness should include being all set to stand before the Lord, along with that which we have done for Him, and hear Him say, “Well done My good and faithful servant.”
Are you ready to start your day? Are you prayed up? Have you stayed in His word so you will be up for reacting like a child of God throughout the day when circumstances call upon you. If not, the good news is that you still have time if you are not ready. However, going forward, follow the advice, “Stay ready and you will be ready.” Have a productive and positively great Tuesday! Be blessed!
“So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. So understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.” (Matthew 24:42-44 NLT)
Still committed to the climb,
