STAY WITH GOD!

“Stay with God!  Take heart.  Don’t quit.  I’ll say it again: Stay with God.” (Psalm 27:14 The Message Bible)

Whether it is the unending line of cars that are backed-up toll both, the non-ending check-in line at the airport, or the endless checkout line at the local store that covers half the length of the store, I have to admit I am not good at waiting.  However, when I consider all those things, they do not compare to the times when we are waiting on the Lord to grant us a specific request.  Yes, there are some more serious things that believers are waiting on; some who may be reading this meditation this morning.  For instance, individuals are waiting for peace beyond comprehension, waiting for a burden to be lifted, waiting for that much anticipated joy in the morning, or waiting for a prayer to be answered from the throne of heaven in such a powerful way that there will be not mistake that it was the Lord’s intervention that brought about a wonderful change.  The Lord will do that, won’t He?  That’s why we encourage you to be steadfast and wait on the Lord.  Stay with God!

There are other believers who are waiting for renewed strength, a reverse of fortune, or a rising up in one way or another that will make life a little easier to endure.  All of us are waiting for the disturbing, deadly pandemic to dissipate or disappear…soon!  It is holiday season and many of us will find ourselves waiting for God to comfort us because we need our hope bolstered when Satan tries to highjack our happy memories of loved one’s not at the table this year.  Our adversary will try to replace them with a heavy weight of sadness.  My advice again, wait on the Lord, remain steadfast, stand on His promises, and stay with God.  God can give you the victory over the devil’s attempts to pull you down or reach your mental state trying to cause you to be reclusive.  The Lord gives us victory!  He will do that, won’t He?  I know your experience with God will enter the picture right now and help you be of good courage.  He will turn your hope to a testimony told loudly to some listening ear, “With God everything will be alright!”  Stay with God my friend at all times, and especially during this holiday week.  As a matter of fact, you should stay with God a little bit longer in prayer, a little bit longer in His word, and a little bit longer in serving others in the best way that you can!  Cultivate faithfulness and cling to your faith!  As the songwriter of one of our old hymns suggest in the lyrics that launch out to every one of our souls, we should all long for just a closer walk with God.  Grant it, Jesus, if you please!  Have a better, uplifted Tuesday.  God be with you!  No, that’s not the best words to conclude with today.  Better words are just above, “Stay with God!”   Take this personal, packed, a provocative message as if it was written specifically for you.  Be blessed!

“Do you not know? Have you not heard?  The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired.  His understanding is inscrutable.  He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.  Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” (Isaiah 40:28-32 NASB)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
