“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV)
Good morning! This is your Monday Short meditation! God is behind the plan of salvation. He is the One who sent us a Savior, His only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ. He is the One who gave us a way to “become the righteousness of God” even though we had sinned, by sending Jesus to take on our iniquities and transgressions and died for us on a rugged cross. That’s the way God planned it! Let us not forget that God’s Son, Jesus, became the epitome of sacrificial living, for He could have called a legion of angels to come to His rescue on Golgotha, the place of His crucifixion, but instead He made the choice to please God and die for you and me. That’s the way that God planned it! He put other before Himself. Thank God!
This week, as followers of Christ, we need to embrace the example of Christ and put others ahead of ourselves. That’s the way God planned it! That’s the way He wants it to be! Seek to serve and steer away from always wanting to be served this week. It will make a difference in the kingdom and in the eyes of God! My youngest sibling, now at rest with the Lord, use to say, “Help a brother out!” Well, let me borrow from my remembrance of his voice uttering those very words, and modifying it a little, say to you, “Help a another out!” Have a good week! But before you get started, look at Christ’s example, one more time in the closing verses. Be blessed!
“Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.”(Romans 5:6-8 The Message Bible)
