“You, Lord, are the light that keeps me safe. I am not afraid of anyone. You protect me, and I have no fears. Brutal people may attack and try to kill me, but they will stumble. Fierce enemies may attack, but they will fall. Armies may surround me, but I won’t be afraid; war may break out, but I will trust you.” (Psalm 27:1-3 Contemporary English Version)
Since Monday did not meet the Monday Short meditation expectation, I will make up for it today. In one of our Bible Study classes last week, as we studied the first six verses of Psalm 27, I made a comment about David’s trust in God. I expressed that regardless of what David had faced in the past and what he was facing in his present time, his trust in the LORD was unmoving, unfastened, unfailing, and untouched. The participants interact during our classes and interject their own thoughts to fortify or supplement our findings in the word of God. An example to prove the point. After my comment about David’s trust, al starting with “un,” Niecy add “unshaken.” I instantly replied, referring to my one of my tee-shirts, “Be careful what you say and do. I might just write about it.” So, true to the saying, and the amazing, accurate, adding of another “Un,” I augmented my list regarding David’s trust, which by the way should be our trust: Unmoving, Unfastened, Unfailing, Untouched, and “Unshaken.”
David’s trust in the LORD, no matter what we are experiencing, should be our trust. Let me add one more “Un.” The sentence that started this paragraph should is undeniably true. Trust in the LORD, my friend. Oh, add some more “un” statements of your own regarding your confidence in God. Be blessed!
“The one thing I ask of the Lord — the thing I seek most — is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the Lord with music.” (Psalm 27:4-6 New Living Translation)
