”By and by, when the morning comes, all the saints of God are gathered home. We will tell the story how we’ve overcome. We will understand it better by and by.” (Refrain from “We Will Understand It Better By and By (1905),” composed by Charles Alfred Tindley)
This is your Monday Short meditation. What is “The Arrival?” Today, the “The Arrival” refers to when we have reached our peak in terms of studying, understanding, and applying the word of God. Let me tell you something. Just as it is on our sanctification voyage, sailing towards the objective to “Be ye perfect as my Father is perfect,” as expressed by Jesus in Matthew 5:48, we must progressively get better in our compliance with the words penned by the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 2:25, the inspired instruction to “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly diving the word of truth.” Progressively all believers, regardless of their level of theological studies; progressively all believers who study the word will get better in time, if they spend time studying the word.
Like a person who aspires to be great in any sport, it is only through continued practice will they get better and closer to reaching their desired goal. Likewise, in our spiritual walk, we will only get better and closer to reaching our goal of pleasing the Lord as we live on this earth, by spending time in the study of the word So, my friend, keep in mind, that when it comes to “The Arrival,” that destination is ever before us, that is until we get to heaven and we will understand it better by and by. Have a great week! Get in the word! Be blessed!
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
We will understand it better, by and by. That is something to which we should all look forward. In the meantime, recognizing that we only get better with practice, we should also long to study His word.
Practice! Practice! You are talking about practice! Smile! But Doctor King you are so right. We only get better with practice. That is applicable in living out all the principles that the Lord has established for us. Be blessed!
