“God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.” (Lamentations 3:22-23 The Message Bible)
As a coffee drinker, I no longer frown at the commercial that points to coffee as “the best thing about waking having coffee in your cup.” I get it! However, I have learned to appreciate the real best things about waking up. You see, even before my coffee, I am grateful for a lot of things. I am thankful that I serve a true and living God who never sleeps or slumbers and watches over us, not only all day, but also all night.
Oh, there is more! But stop for a minute and praise God this morning with me! Praise Him, for He woke us up and started us on our way. Praise Him, for He didn’t have to do it, but He did! Praise Him with your voice this Tuesday morning! Praise Him because even if our minds were troubled during the night, the Lord woke us up in our right mind, ready to depend on Him to either overcome our troubles or experience the truth in the saying, “Trouble don’t last always.” Praise Him, for we cannot praise Him enough!
Another the best things about waking up is knowing that even though we really didn’t deserve it, the Lord still loves me, and the Lord is merciful to us again! Oh, how great is His mercy! Praise God for withholding what we deserve and praise the Lord for graciously giving us what we don’t deserve. When we wake up in the morning, we can focus on His faithfulness, knowing that whatever we have to face, fix, or fight against, we are not alone. Praise God! He will aid us! He will guide us! He will lead us! He will see use through! We just have to wake up trusting in Him and allowing Him to order our steps through the day ahead of us!
Oh, praise God again for a new morning! Oh, I need to tell you something beneficial. Even if we wake up to bad news, He will lift us up and give us peace beyond understanding. He will sustain our hope and help us press on to higher ground. He will comfort us in the morning! He will show us symbolically by the darkness of night being replaced by the sun light, that His Son, Jesus, the Light of the world will brighten up our day! Praise God in the morning!
All I have said is valid and true about the best things about waking up in the morning, However, let me simplify it and clarify it and then we can meditate on it. You see, the best things about waking up really are not “things” at all, but rather “Persons” who make the things possible. Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Have a great morning! Stay God-conscious and Christ centered! Be blessed!
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-10 NIV)
