THE COMPLETE FULL COURSE MEAL

“How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103 The Amplified Bible)

What exactly is a full course meal?  The answer varies, based on who answers the question.  A full course meal can range from one course to as many as 12 courses, but this morning, I am going to talk about a seven-course meal, applicable to what you have been served this week, a complete meal that can only be completed by you. today.  Technically, a seven-course meal will include an hors d’oeuvre, soup, appetizer, salad, main course, dessert, and mignardise.  The latter, the “mignardise” is an assortment of small desserts typically served with coffee at the end of a meal.

Look at the six courses that you have already been served this week, as a means of review.  Monday you were served by the server/servant at Mark Writes an hors d’ oeuvre entitled “When a Godly Matriarch Says Something.”  Tuesday, you were served a little soup called “A Day to Focus on Freedom.”  Wednesday, for your delight, you were an appetizer, “Make This Your Expression.”  Thursday, You were served a salad aptly titled “The Private Place.”  Not full yet, Friday, placed in front of you was a main course called “Proof!  We Can All Get Along.”  Yesterday, Saturday, you were served a dessert, “An Open Door…Really.”  You have been “eating” regularly haven’t you?

Now today, on this the Lord’s Day, Sunday, there is the seventh course waiting for you, a new dish with a new name; a mignardise that will be served at your local church.  There is only one catch.  You have to make your way to the table for this course.  You are wondering what it is, are you not?  What is this last course?  Well, let me not keep you in total suspense.  I cannot reveal the name of the seventh course.  I can’t tell you about the exact ingredients of the mignardise that will be served to you.  All I can tell you, with certainty, is that it will be something specific time for a specific purpose.  Even though it is last course on your complete seven course meal, you must still make room for it.  Generally speaking, the main ingredient is the word of God.  Or perhaps we can call it “Today’s Sermon Specifically Sent To You by the Sovereign Creator, Specifically For You.”

Here is some advice!  Don’t miss out on the mignardise!  It’s the last course, but you know how it is.  Sometimes, just like Jesus’ first miracle where He turned water into wine, the Lord saves the best to last.  So, complete the feast my friend.  See what the Lord has saved for last in your complete seven course meal!  Attend your local church physically or if truly unable to attend in person, attend virtually.  Don’t miss the final course!  It will be worth the wait!  Have a great worship service!  Be blessed!

“But Jesus replied, ‘It is written and forever remains written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4 The Amplified Bible)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
