“Do everything without complaining…” (Philippians 2:14 NLT)
There is a sign affixed to the top of the entry door to my wife’s home office that says, “THERE WILL BE A $5.00 Charge for Whining.” What caught my attention were the words in capital letter, “THERE WILL BE A.”
Synonyms for whining include moaning, grumbling, and of course, complaining. While the sign on the door was most likely intended to be humorous, I zeroed in on the fact that complaining costs. There is indeed “The Cost of Whining,”
It costs you and others time; time that could be spent resolving your problem(s). Whining, known as complaining, cost you time that can be used to represent your faith in the fact that no matter what you are facing, you will trust in the Lord. Whining! It cost you time where you can be a witness and a winner of souls for the Lord because you fail to really believe that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called for His purpose and the primary reason you are still here is because He has a specific purpose for you! Whining, it costs you the opportunity to develop your skills as a problem solver, researching the word of God where you can find the answers to your problem. Oh, there are cost of whining! It costs time for the person who has work hard to complete deadlines, to meets expectations in the home, work, and the church where one has duties to perform, Sometimes, if you are always whining, it will even cost you a relationship. Who wants to be around one who whines consistently? There are other potential, possible costs for whining, but I have shared enough to propel you to postpone continued whining, enough to persevere through your predicament, and enough to push you gently to pursue with post haste that which needs to be done to stop your whining. Enjoy the final Friday of the year! Don’t let whining keep you from rejoicing in the Lord! Be blessed!
“I know it’s important to do more than just complain when there’s something you don’t like. You need to try to do something about it, or you’re nothing but a whiner.”
