This is your Monday Short meditation. If you live on the westside of Indianapolis, you may have seen this sign while driving past a particular apartment complex, “FIRST AND LAST MONTH RENT FREE!” If I were looking for an apartment I would definitely go directly into the leasing office and request a two-month lease. Oh, I would pay the refundable deposit, but by my proposition for a two-month lease, I would be holding them to their proclamation. Thus I would pay nothing.
Thank God, that when it comes to salvation, I don’t have to drive around any thoroughfare on this planet, tiny in size compared to the Divine’s created universe, looking for a place to live for free. No, because of being save, salvation is free for those who believe. I believe! Scripture says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Thank you, God for His grace, and thank you, Jesus, for paying the price for us on Calvary’s cross.
Praise God that there is an added bonus too, something to smile about this Monday morning. We will have a dwelling place much better that the aforementioned apartment with “The Free Rent Sign.” How do I know that for sure? Well, I take every word that came out of the mouth of Jesus during the time He took on flesh and dwelt among us. This included what He said in the closing verses below. Have a great week! Be blessed!
