“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.” (Romans 8:29-30 NASB)
It seems like an eternity, but years ago, when my adult children were considered little kids, I owned a big, blue, Marathon car, the model you can visualize by associating with the old New York City cabs that you see in the movies. The back seat was huge, comparable to the room you would find in a limo with two seats facing each other. The NYC cabs, also Marathon models, often had booster seats in place of the full-size seat. My Marathon did not have the booster seats. Hence there was plenty of room. To utilize the space and keep the children entertained, I put a trunk-size container filled with Legos in the back seat area. The children could bend down on the floor and face the back seat, convert it into a work area, and build various things with the Legos. On a long journey, they would develop a variety of objects, each having its own purpose. The longer the ride, the more complex and complete the object became.
That’s a true story from my life. Now let’s talk about the “Lego Life.” I am using this term, “Lego Life,” to relate to your life journey as a Christian. In your “Lego Life” be assured that the Lord is still working on you, finishing you to fulfill His purpose for which He created you. Sometimes He will take His time in constructing you, building you up, continuing to complete you. Sometimes He will take pieces away and other times He will add new pieces. It sounds complex, but everything God allows you to go through is to get you to where God wants you. There are times that He allows His construction project to be tough on you, and maybe test you. But guess what? When He gets done with you, it will be a magnificent work.
This was your Monday Short meditation. Now go and enjoy the “Lego Life.” God is not through with you yet. As Dr. H.C. King has stated for over three decades now, “We are still under construction.” Hang on in there! Be blessed!
” And so, I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6 Good News Translation)
Committed to the climb,
