“Faith is the key to the life of a Christian. It is the key to blessings, provision, protection, inspiration, and the key to receiving every good thing that Jesus wishes to bestow upon His precious children.” (This is a quote found on pinterest.com)
This is your Monday Short meditation. For real! It’s brief, but it can serve to boost your faith walk this week. Real quick story: Two men are holding a conversation at work. Neither of the men were in a position where they were given a key to any door in the building; not one single door. One man had a ring of keys hanging off his belt, attached to a retractable key chain. You know the type I am talking about, right? The other man pulls his keys out of his pocket and says, “You sure have a lot of keys! I only have one for my car and one for my house. Why do you have so many? Do you use them?” The man with the retractable key chain says, “Not really! If I change cars or move, I always keep the keys I already have. Also, I have keys to my parents and siblings’ houses in case they ever get locked out for one reason or the other. I seldom use them, but I carry them every day.” The man who only carries two keys gave a one word reply and walked away. He said, “Useless.”
Look at what you just read this morning. Two men, one who uses the keys he had and the other who just collects keys. Let’s put you in this meditation. Are you like the latter man? Let me ask the question in a different way. Do you obtain “keys” to living out your faith from the preached word of God that you hear every Sunday; “keys” to living a successful, godly, Christian life, but you never use them? Don’t be that way! If you collect the “keys” to living out your faith, use them! Don’t make them useless. When a situation arises, find the faith key that is appropriate for the situation. Don’t just collect the “keys” to faith and never use them! Think about what you have read, my friend. Have a great week! Open some doors! Be blessed!
“So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. (James 2:17 NLT Version)
