“THE RISING OF THE SONS”

At least two of my five sons are actively serving in church ministry.  Let me rephrase that statement.  At least two of my five sons are actively serving in an excellent and impactful way in the gospel ministry.  I raised them, but it is God who gets the credit for them rising up.  He gets the credit for the rising of the sons.  Side Note: To the other three sons reading this, you need to know that one of you is next!  Is it you?  Don’t laugh!  I’m not playing.

Not often do I share someone else’s work, but this Monday morning, I am sharing a piece of inspiration written by one of the two sons mentioned above.  Be inspired my friend!  I was truly encouraged!

YOUR SUN IS RISING

“So as the sun began to rise, Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the water rushed back into its usual place. The Egyptians tried to escape, but the Lord swept them into the sea.”  (Exodus 14:27 NLT)

“As many times as I’ve read or heard the story of God parting the Red Sea, never did I make the connection that this happened at NIGHT.  In darkness.  Do you feel like you’re in a long period of night?  In the wilderness?  Is it just DARK and you don’t know which way to go?  If you do, read Exodus 14:15-31.

You will find a reminder and encouragement that God is already fighting for you in the darkness.  He’s already guiding the way.  He’s already confusing your enemies and showing you a path that He’s prepared and protected for you.  Cry out to Him.  It’s ok.  He loves knowing you love Him and wants you to seek Him above all else.

Seek God and keep walking.  Follow His guide and put one foot in front of the other in faith.  He’s got you.

Because around dawn, as the sun rose, the Israelites safely completed crossing the sea.  Maybe it actually is darkest before the dawn.  Just remember — God is there in the darkest times too.  And I pray today you see Him and feel Him leading you into His promises for you.  Thanks for letting me share!”

Point your kids in the right direction—when they’re old they won’t be lost.”  (Proverbs 22:6 The Message Bible)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
