“As they were going on the road, someone said to Him, “I will follow You wherever You go.” (Luke 9:57 NASB)
There is a “where” in “wherever.” The “where” in “wherever” as it relates to being a follower of Christ may follow this pattern: Initially, progressively, and unconditionally. If that describes you, great!
The “where” in “wherever,” again as it relates to being a follower of Christ, one of His disciples, can also follow another pattern: Occasionally, periodically, or circumstantially. If that describes you, grow!
The “where” in “wherever,” as it relates to being a follower of Christ may follow this pattern: Eventually, hesitantly, or tentatively. If that describes you, go back; back to that initial expression that said, “I will follow You wherever you go.”
For some the “where” in “wherever” has been replaced by a “what,” and the “wherever” has been replaced by “never” or I cannot do it “forever.” I know that is not your pattern so no concerns about you. Yet, you may know someone in the “never” group that you need to bring to Christ.
Where is your “where” in “wherever?” Answer the question now! Get started with your day, but only after you have read the words taken from an old hymn below, familiar to some and foreign to others. In either case, it is on a need-to-know basis. Be blessed!
Still committed to the climb,
