“But let justice roll out like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” (Amos 5:24 New American Standard Bible)
I’m not sure what the dream meant, but last night I had a dream. I’m still trying to figure out the meaning. While I don’t know the purpose exactly, it could have had a variety of messages. It could have meant that after spending my early years on platforms in the private sector, personal goals being primary, and then after spending 34 years on that platform called the pulpit and with still some useful mileage on my being, I still have some work to do. It could have meant that my pulpit was to extend beyond the pastoral duties that I am leaving in late September 2025, and impact the world on a broader platform, in ways not yet revealed.
Still searching for meaning, I wondered if it meant that my work was to diligently devote time, as required or necessary, over the next 15 months to partner with the preacher, preparing for the transition in October 2025 when he will assume my duties as Lead Pastor when I retire, ensuring that he does a greater work than me. That’s how it should be. By the way, his last name is King too. So, that could very well be the meaning.
Let me share a snapshot of the dream. There were celebrities, co-laborers, celebrated G.O.A.T. personalities approaching the microphone to address an audience that filled an unidentified auditorium. The last speaker, a prominent, national speaker, was amazing and this person spoke these words that were well received, “There is another king.” Now, I’m sure it has nothing to do with politics, and not anything to do with opposing democracy. Yet, I agree with the last speaker in my dream who said, something appropriate for July 4th in the midst of the political turmoil going on in the USA, “Let freedom ring!” And then that person went on to say, quoting from the prophet Amos, “But let justice roll out like waters, And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”
After the dream I woke up, pondered, prayed, and peaked at my incoming emails, looking for responses from the recent meditation entitled, “Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number.” One pastor responded by saying these exact words, “I’m glad when God increases our number because with every increase, He blesses us with increased strength to persevere!” Let me not fail to mention that my older brother designed the new logo you see on the meditations you received and that was saying, “You need to keep up this work.”
So for now, I have reversed my unannounced decision to stop writing Mark Writes at the end of the year, and to continue sending out daily meditation until the Lord says otherwise. I am sure the Lord wants me to continue to keep as many souls as possible God-conscious and Christ-centered. I am positive that God wants me to use this platform to spread the word to new readers who do not really know the Lord, so they will know without a doubt, “There is another King.” His name is Jesus. This King, our King, my King, He needs the truth perpetuated, and He desires those who are listening to another word, a word not fit to be called sound doctrine, but rather false doctrine, to come to know the truth that sets people free.
Enough said, enough shared for now. Enjoy the holiday and be sure to do that which is right when others tempt you to do wrong and try to lead you astray or cause you to drift toward apostasy. Keep in mind, “There is Another King,” and His name is Jesus. Be blessed!
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
