THERE IS NOTHING IN BETWEEN TODAY

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” (I Chronicles 4:10 King James Version)

This morning there is not a mini-dissertation or semi-sermon for you to read.  Except for an explanation, there is nothing in between today.  As I assume more of a publisher’s role, versus a writer’s, our inspiration will come directly from the word of God.  So, other than telling you that while I sat at the computer this morning, wondering what to write, I looked to my left and saw a small wooden wall-hanging with The Prayer of Jabez inscribed on it.  I had recently taken it off the wall, and I placed on another place on my desk, and a couple of days ago, and on another day, I moved it closer to the right side of my computer.  Was God trying to get my attention?  The wall-hanging was staring in my face as if it was saying, “This is what you are to write today.  Don’t worry about your usual format, but encourage people to pray today, specifically applying The Prayer of Jabez to their own lives.”  So, I wrote the verse above, taken from the wall-hanging as printed in the King James Version.  As a closing verse, I have inserted one of my founding member’s favorite paraphrase versions.  Meditate on it and pray, applying today’s word to your life today.  Be blessed!

He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would wonderfully bless me and help me in my work; please be with me in all that I do and keep me from all evil and disaster!” And God granted him his request.” (Romans 12:6-12 NLT)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
