“While He was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man covered with leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” And He stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately the leprosy left him.” (Luke 512-13: NASB)
Two things prompted today’s meditation, the first being the Spirit-filled sermon I heard my eldest son preach, the good news, on this past Sunday, and the second being my impatience with the weatherman segments on the morning news shows. In regard to the first, yes, when preachers are not standing at the sacred desk; when it is not our turn, we should take notes, perhaps even more so than anybody else as we listen to God’s sent message. That goes for me too. That goes for those sitting in their regular places in the pews. And, of course, that goes for you. You will have notes to see later. Remember, “To hear is to forget and to see is to remember.” In regard to the second, I often say out loud in the confines of my room, “I don’t need to know about the jet streams in any direction and I am not interested in the statistical comparisons between the current day and historical data, and I am not interested in whether or not the weather will permit the opening of the football stadium roof later in the week!”. All I want to know is “Today’s Forecast.” Is it going to be hot or cold; rainy or sunny; muggy or most uncomfortable; and at times I am interested in the pollen count and the air quality report. Just tell me about the forecast in four sentences and move on to the traffic update, and the news of the overnight happenings.
Well let me see if I can hold myself to my own four sentence standard regarding today’s forecast. (1) The forecast for the day is that Jesus will be passing by in your life. (2) Call on Him! You will find that He is always available. (3) Today, Jesus will be your true source of blessings and happiness. (4) Jesus may address your problem(s) immediately, with only your faith required, but He may give you some instructions to obey that will lead to your problem disappearing eventually. Act in obedience, trusting in the Lord with all your heart. That’s the forecast for this Tuesday, September 7, 2021. For support refer to the verses used to sustain the forecast as the preacher, Rev. Marcus R. King, presented what thus saith the Lord a couple of days ago. Be blessed!
“While He was on the way to Jerusalem, He was passing between Samaria and Galilee. As He entered a village, ten leprous men who stood at a distance met Him; and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us! When He saw them, He said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they were going, they were cleansed.” (Luke 17:11-14 NASB)
Still committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
