TRANSTIONING FROM YOUNG TO OLDER

“I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or his descendants begging for bread.” (Psalm 37:25 NASB)

As I was going through a collection of old family pictures, I started thinking of how things change as we get older. Looking at the time in my rear view mirror, I remember when major networks were not monopolized by game shows, the school year started after Labor Day, pleated pants and high heel men shoes were in style, women wore slips instead of slim wear and shorts, driving to the utility companies to pay your monthly bill was normal, driver’s education at school or by an authorized company was required, running a tabs at the neighborhood store where everybody knew your name…and your address, no one counted carbohydrates or read the nutrition label, if they really were printed on products, and knowing how to write a check was a must. And in the regards to the latter, you used to be able to count on 3 to 7 days before the company you paid by check actually cashed your check. That does not work anymore. Things change with time. I don’t care what your age is, things change as you transition from young to older. Notice how I tactfully added the “er” on to the word “old. Smile!

There is an exception to all the change that comes with time, for the Lord, the Alpha and the Maga, He never changes. Thank God that He never changes!  Thank God that regardless of how many years and decades we have behind us and or the days left in front of us, the Lord will never leave us or forsake us, saints! The Lord changes not! We can count on God! You know that I am right about it.

Therefore, in recognition of God being the same, still sovereign, still supreme, still strength when we are weak, and still the one who should really be first in our life, give glory to God as we transition from young to older.  My friend, let’s make sure that God can count on us to have an Isaiah-like mentality when it comes to being of service to Him, doing whatever it is that He has called us to do; regardless of our birth year and blessed time we have experience on this earth.  If you do change, let it be a change that shows that we are seeking to be ye perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect. You know that that is ongoing, but as we reach from perfection, we will achieve excellence. Have a terrific Tuesday! Be blessed!

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”.” (2 Timothy 4:2 NASB)
