“My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” (John 10:29 NASB)
Let’s start with a little Spanish lesson. Today’s title, “TRISTE O FELIZE,” is translated in English “SAD OR HAPPY.” What is this meditation all about? Hopefully, you will not see it as morbid, but meaningful; not unsettling, but instead uplifting; not something that makes you sad, but rather something that stirs up some joy in your heart. Let’s get started. I had a strange dream about a young man and his elderly father lying in a casket. This was not a typical casket by any means. It was shaped like an Olympic bobsled probably signifying that life goes by at a speedy pace. The casket was short, sleek in design, and the surefire object of great care. This perhaps pointed to the fact that in spite of the dangers and toils that flash before our eyes; in spite of the speed at which life takes turns of events, just as the Lord takes care of the lilies of the field and the birds of the air, how much more He takes care of you and me as we face unseen dangers and unexpected happenings is life. The feet of the two men, the son and father, were sticking out of the casket. Suddenly, a pair of heavenly hands appeared and in a gentle, caring manner, the hands put everything in place and proceeded to close the casket. At that point I immediately woke up. At first, I was filled with great sadness, but then I was quickly moved to the point that my heart was overflowing with happiness. You see, I made the choice to think, dwell on the latter, the happy thought, the felize thought, and I was led to a couple of inspiring conclusions. First, derived from my very own response to the dream, I concluded that we always have a choice to be sad or happy. Second, by the content of the dream, looking through my God-conscious prism, I was reminded that no matter what you and I go through, the Lord’s got you and He’s got me too! He has His children in His hand. Furthermore, He will take care of us in a gentle and caring manner, always! This second inspiring conclusion is applicable even as we, as God’s children, go through the easiest days or the toughest days; the best of times or the worst of times in this life, and even when this life is over. Listen up! You can choose to start out your day, this day, not discolored with dismay, but rather you can start it with a definite, sustaining long note of blessed assurance; God will take care of you! And in spite of whatever is going on, you can say, “God’s got this!” Saying and believing that “God’s got this” and/or “all things work out for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose,” makes it easier for us to choose mucho paz (much peace) and when it comes to “TRISTE O FELIZ,” we shall choose the latter, “FELIZ!” What is your choice today? I think I know your answer! I am imagining the smile on your face right now! I sense that your innermost thoughts that have been awakened! God in peace! Enjoy your Friday! Be happy, not just because it is Friday, but be happy that you are in the mighty hand of the Lord! Hold on to it all day! Be blessed!
“You have a strong arm; Your hand is mighty; Your right hand is exalted.” (Psalm 89:13 NASB)
