TWO SERVANTS

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45 NASB)

Who are these two servants mentioned in the title? The first is Jesus Christ and the second one is you, one who has chosen to follow Jesus as one of His disciples. Let’s look at the Servant, distinguished as our Savior by the upper case “S,” and the connection with you, a servant of the Lord, distinguished by the lower case “s.”  Do these words sound familiar, “Whoever is the greatest should be the servant of the others?” They were spoken by the Servant and have meaning for you, the servant. You can find them in Matthew 23:11 (Contemporary English Version).

As a servant for the Servant, you can help someone find life, abundant life, everlasting life.

As a servant for the Servant, you can be instrumental in changing the path of which somebody is walking; get them off the wide path that leads to destruction and on to the narrow path of righteousness.

As a servant for the Servant, you can alter some person’s eternal destiny from hell to the delight of heaven.

This morning, as you are in worship, don’t just be “glad to be in the service one more time,” but be ready to be a servant for the Servant. Be blessed!

“And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23 NASB)

Committed to the climb,
