WAKE UP!

“Arise, my people! Let your light shine for all the nations to see! For the glory of the Lord is streaming from you.” (Isaiah 60:1 The Living Bible)

When we are in the comfort of our home, we depend upon our alarm clocks to wake us up. Some of you have body clocks which don’t let you oversleep and usually wake you up earlier than the time you set on your alarm clock.  I’m one of those people.  In any event, when folks stay in some fancy hotel, they ask the front desk concierge, in a culturally elevated formal tone, “Can I get a wake-up call at…?”  Whether home or away, you are accustomed to some type of wake-up call.

Therefore, the Lord is calling you to arise this morning!  He is using me to give you a wake-up call to ensure you are on time for worship this Sunday morning.  Don’t you dare push your spiritual snooze button!  Wake up!  Arise and give the Lord glory! As the verse suggest, let it stream from you from this very moment as you make your way to the place where you will praise God and be blessed by His word!  Wake up! Make you way to the place where your light will be re-charged so that it will shine brightly wherever you go through the week!

As kids we use to sing, “Rise, shine, give God the glory, glory!”  In case you are saying, “I’m not a kid anymore,” let me ask you one question.  “Aren’t you still one the children of the Lord?”  Well wake up, arise, rise up and be on your way to the assembly of the saints!  I know you will be better off than if you slept the morning away.  Be blessed!

“Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory! Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory!
Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory!
Children of the Lord.”

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King

P.S.  Thomas was kind filling in for me Friday when I left my flash drive at home,  I liked his letter focusing on doubt and the remedy for doubt, faith.  However In his letter he referenced the book he wrote.  Well, to be fair, they did find The Book of Thomas in the mid-20th century, but it is not a part of the canonized Scriptures we have in our Bibles.  What Thomas really wanted to point out you to was what John wrote about him in John 20:25-29,  Check it out!
