WFH: WORK FROM HOME

“But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives.” (Philippians 3:20a NLT)

Watching the business segment of the new last week, a new segment shined a spotlight on a major employer’s plans for their workforce during the ongoing pandemic and even beyond.  There were three options that would be offered that I recall: (1) work on the company campus; an option that would provide the socialization we all need, (2) work remotely from any location in the world; an option made possible by the ever-advancing enhancements to virtual communication, or (3) work from home.  The latter option is abbreviated by the letters WFH.  It has probably been around for some time now, but this is the first time I heard it used.  WTF automatically went through my Christian life perception prism, a process that converts regular conversation to a God conscious conclusion .  Out of my prism came a reminder that was of personal value to me.  So, since we have the same type of mind, as required by the admonition written by Paul as inspired by God to “Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus [look to Him as your example in selfless humility]…(Philippians 2:5 Amplified Bible),” you perhaps just had the same thought that I had as WFH came through your personal perception prism.  Let’s see.  Compare your thoughts with mine.

My thoughts: As Christians, we should always choose the WFH option.  We are working, serving, fulfilling our general assignments, and living a purposeful life as God’s children during all our awakened hours.  The results vary by our efforts, our consistency level in walking by faith, and our dependence on the Holy Spirit throughout each and every day. Now the “H” in the WFH abbreviation still stands for “home” as it does in reference to the secular world of work, but instead of referring to the place where we reside on earth, our prisms produced a different interpretation.  “H” was seen, after a rapid and almost automatic translation, as a reference to our “Home” in heaven.

Therefore, prompted to arrive at a point of application, I concluded that we ought to live in such a way that we represent our “Home;” represent the place where we are sojourning  to on this earth, on our way to get “Home;” represent the place where our Heavenly Father is at “Home,” sitting on His throne where heaven and earth adore Him, and represent He who began a good work in us and will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.

WFH my friend! Live in such a way that your talking, walking, thinking, reacting, behaving, relaxing, vacationing, and worshipping Him, all that and more, reflects your home in glory.  Beloved, we our doing the WFH option and we should be doing it willingly!  Our requirement on this earth is never to be found slacking in our representation of our “Home.”  The employer above had options. We only have the one WFH option!  Let’s take it! Be blessed!

“Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”  (Matthew 5:16 NASB)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
