WHAT IT AIN’T!

“Then He said to them all, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23 Modern English Version)

This is your Monday Short meditation, but hopefully it will go a long way in impacting how you carry yourself as a Christian this week. I am not going to tell you what it is, for you already know the verse above, one of my favorites. But I am going to tell you what it ain’t. The Christian life…

It ain’t about the words you speak, but rather it is about the path you walk. It ain’t about being in the Spirit on Sunday, but rather it is about being submissive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit every single day in the week ahead. It ain’t about worrying, wondering, or at the worst, some wandering, but rather it is about wanting the world to know by your demeanor and your willingness to stay on the path of righteousness, regardless of what occurs, that the Way-Maker, the Lord, He will make a way somehow. It ain’t about just lifting your hands in praise in the sanctuary, but it is about living a set-apart life everywhere you go, as a testimonial form of praise. It ain’t about staying in the lanes where life takes you, but it is about serving in those lanes so those in danger may come to their senses and seek safety in the Lord. It ain’t about being clothed in your Sunday’s best, like you were, presumably, yesterday, but rather it is about being clothed in righteousness, and holiness, living your best as a witness for the Lord.

I could go on, but I am holding myself to the “Short” stipulation today! Have a great week! And note, regarding what I just wrote, I ain’t kidding! Smile! Be blessed!

“And to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 2:4 Modern English Version)

Committed to the climb,
