WHAT KIND OF OUTFIT DO YOU HAVE ON?

“Be dressed in readiness and keep your lamps alight.” (Luke 12:35 NASB)

I know that it’s Monday and time for your “Monday Short” meditation, but I have to ask you, “What kind of outfit do you have on?”  Oh, I am no asking whether your shoes match the rest of your outfit, or if your socks match your top.  I am not asking if you are wearing attire that is completely color coordinated, or not, depending on what you perceive is stylish.  I am not asking if you are wearing the latest trends?  It makes no matter to me whether you are wearing the tops with renaissance shoulder pads or a comeback double-breasted jacket, both which have resurfaced as “En Vogue.”  And really, I don’t care if you are wearing sandals, dress shoes, tennis shoes, clogs, or some other type of shoe.  I don’t care if you are wearing knock off shoes or costly shoes that you carefully and slowly takeoff at the end of the day.  If you are wearing a hand-me-down, a handout, or your handy dandy best outfit, that makes no difference to me.

All I want to know if you are dressed in readiness, dressed in faithfulness, and dressed in alertness, knowing that “The Company” is coming, a guest who I will simply call “The Master.”  Are these things a part of your outfit on this Monday morning?  Well, they should be.  As a matter of fact, don’t worry if people comment about you wearing the same thing every day when it relates to readiness, faithfulness, and alertness.  You wear them well and wear them with great joy!  Be ready!  Be blessed!

“You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect.” (Luke 12:40 NASB)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
