WHEN THE RESONATING MEANING IS NOT THE REAL MEANING

“Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” (John 8:47 NIV)

With people you don’t always get the real meaning of what is spoken to you. Do you want some examples? You do? Okay, here are a few. Expression: “Sweetheart, if you have time, will you pick up my cleaning? Only if you have time.” Translation: “Pick up my cleaning.” Expression: “I wish we had some snacks in the house.” Translation: “While you are out, get some snacks.” Expression: “Either way, you choose.” Translation: “You know you should choose what I would choose.” Expression: “I’ll go with you if I am not busy.” Translation: “Now you know good and well that I don’t want to go, and don’t plan to go.” Expression: “I will call you soon and we will have lunch.” Translation: “Fat chance I will ever call you for lunch.” Expression: “Not what I expected, but I will find a use for it.” Translation: “What was he/she thinking? This will just go in the junk drawer, for the rest of my life!” Expression: “I’m just around the corner.” Translation: “I’m all the way on the other side of town driving on the circular thoroughfare that curves around the corner,” Well, I’m sure you can come with some more. But regardless if you can or cannot, I’ll stand by my premise, “With people you don’t always get the real meaning of what is expressed to you.” I’m attempting to be on the lighter side today, but you know it’s true. There are times when the resonating meaning is not the real meaning,

Now with the Lord, moving away from the lighter side to the source of light and life, when the Lord says something, there is no hidden message. His expressions need no discovery of hidden, translated messages. With His messages, the problem does not lie with Him. The problem lies with the receiver. The receiver unwillingly, stubbornly does not receive the message, or he/she does not perceive the meaning of the profound and perfect truth in the message released from God.

It’s only Friday, but I do not think it is too early to get you ready to listen to the Lord’s sent message, specifically for you, this coming Sunday. Open your heart and hear ye the Lord! As Jesus would say, “He that has ears let him hear.” Start planning for Sunday now, and when you get in the assembly of the saints, take what He has to say seriously. Be blessed!

For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it.” (Luke 11:28 English Standard Version)
