“On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’]” “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” (Luke 10:25-28)
Here are some quick tips on loving yourself. Are you ready? (1) Loving yourself is okay when we put it in the right perspective. The right perspective? Yes, love the Lord you God, love yourself, and then you will love your neighbor. Accomplishing the latter us easy when you get the vertical right, loving God. Then the horizontal, loving your neighbor as yourself, becomes very easy. (2) Loving yourself helps you ascend to the higher step of loving other people. Loving yourself is a precursor to loving everybody else. (3) : Know that loving self is always applicable. Let me elaborate, so you won’t think today’s content is like a Monday Short meditation. Think on the following.
Love self – by respecting yourself!
Love self – by taking care of self!
Love self – by feeding self from the manna from heaven; the bread of life!
Love self – by being letting the Lord order your steps!
Love self – by depending on the Lord and deepening your relationship with Him! Like He walks with you and talks with you, you walk with Him and talk with Him! Keep holding on to His unchanging hand!
Love self – by asking for clarification, when necessary, like the certain lawyer in the text. Seek to understand, in other words, seek to know what the Lord is saying to you, every day!
Love self – by smiling at yourself in the mirror and recognizing that God let you see another day and left you in the land of the living for His purpose!
Love self – when you have a lot and when you struggle! The Lord takes care of the birds in the sky and the lilies of the field. How much more will He take care of you! Be not dismayed whatever betide, God will take care of you! Keep seeking ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness!
Love self – let your light shine! Recognize just who you are! You are the salt of the earth! You are: “A chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into the marvelous light!”
Love self – show the world that you are so very glad that Jesus lifted you by how you treat yourself! When you treat yourself right, you will, if you keep the commandment, treat other right!
Love self – to the point that your very walk in life, every step, points to the fact that you are a praying and praising child of God!
Love self – so you can love others to the point they want to come to Jesus themselves and experience “better!”
Love self – because that’s what we need to do as sons and daughter of the Lord so that we will have a barometer to measure how effectively we love others.
Now, I have written this to you in love, so that you can love self, love others, and allow others to see how the love of God has made a marvelous change in you. Be blessed!

Loving myself has become easier now that I have a closer relationship with Christ, my Savior. He loves me so, that I can’t help but show gratitude by taking care of myself and taking care of others by showing love.
