WHERE IS SHE?

“I love those who love me; and those who seek me early and diligently will find me.” (Proverbs 8:17 Amplified Bible)

Do you remember the children’s book that came out in 1987 entitled, “Where’s Waldo?”  Children used to read it and diligently search illustrations/images on drawings that spanned two-pages, trying to find where Waldo was hiding.  Keep the image you just imagined in your mind and reads on.

This is your Monday Short Meditation, yes, the supposedly “short” one.  Sorry!  It did not turn out that way.  But I’ll make it somewhat “brief.”

Once again, at the start of the work week, you will go all the way from Monday until Saturday, engaging in challenging situations, experiencing circumstances that require contemplation, and you will also encounter some conditions where you need help to ensure that you handle them correctly.   You will have experiences with the saved, the strayed, and the unsaved.  In some instances, your faith will be challenged, your convictions internally questioned, and your commitment to live right will be put through tests of all sorts and sizes.  As a side note, child of God, know that I have confidence that you will do all right.  At least that is my prayer for you this morning.

Let me personify wisdom and give you a way to handle whatever comes your way.  We will call “wisdom” a “she,” appropriately so because of the Biblical use of this gender describing term, but don’t let that interfere with you recognizing that in the general sense, this meditation is definitely applicable to male and female readers; applicable to you.

When you face all I described above, at all times stop for a minute, as opposed to immediately acting on your own accord, in a quick, reflex-type way, based on your rationalizing and intellectual abilities, and instead, let the Holy Spirit help you ponder on the counsel from God’s word, the Bible.  His word is full of wisdom, insights for every situation.

Search among the word which you have hidden in your heart.  When necessary, do the work and search the inspired pages of Scriptures, and ask, as you search, “Where is she?”  Keep looking until you find “her.”

Next, after finding “her,” referring to wisdom again, standing out among the letters in God’s word, you will see that “she” was waiting patiently for you to find “her.”   Focus on “her” for a minute or even longer.  It’s worth your time, for by doing so, you will see that “she” is outfitted in insight, incredible truth, and incomparable content.  “She” will give you the exact relief you were searching for and lead you in right direction.  Like “Waldo,” wisdom’s outfit is always the same.  And, as a matter of fact, it will never change.  The wisdom you find, in God’s word, will ensure that you handle all or try your best to handle all things in a godly, righteous manner.

Whatever you face this week, pause, move to a God-conscious state, and take the time to ask, “Where is she?”  Engage in the search for “her” and when you find “her,” you will be equipped to respond to your “whatever” in a way that puts a smile on the face of our Heavenly Father.  Will “she” be hard to find?  Not if you diligently seek “her.”

Meditate on these words.  Applying them appropriately and they will have a long-lasting, positive impact on your thinking and acting this week.  Keep asking as you turn through the multiple pages of life, “Where is she?”  Be blessed!

“Get wisdom; develop good judgment.  Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.  Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you.” (Proverbs 4:5-6 NLT)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
