WILL THIS TEE-SHIRT SELL?

“Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.  I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.  I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:11-13 NASB)

I’m not in the tee-shirt business, but I keep coming up with sayings, original to my knowledge, that would produce great sales.  Don’t fret, I’m not giving up my day and night job of tending to the sheep.  A few weeks ago I thought of “When Things Happen, God Is Happening,” showing that no matter what happens in the course of life, God will cause it to work out for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.

A couple of nights ago. I came up with another slogan adorned tee-shirt idea, again it is original to me.  The slogan that would adorn the shirt would say, “When You Are At Your Worst, God Is At His Best.”  Later in the day, I modified the slogan to say, “At Your Worst? Don’t Give up, Get Up!”  I liked the latter one because it could imply a couple of things.  First, it could imply that in our most challenging time, we should look to the hills from whence commeth our help, knowing our help comes from the Lord.  Second, it could imply that no matter what we have to contend with in life, keep pressing upward toward our higher calling in Christ Jesus.  Would this tee-shirt sell?  I may never know.  But I’ll personally shall benefit from the slogan, and hopefully you will too.  Enjoy your Saturday!  Get to bed early!  No, you don’t have to go to work.  Well, not every reader has to work.  But for certain, you do have to go to church and be in the assembly of the saints.  It will make a difference in your week and all the weeks ahead in your life.  I’ll be praying for you!  Be blessed!

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.  Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized.  Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.” (Philippians 4: 6-9 MSG)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
