“Suddenly, God, your light floods my path, God drives out the darkness. I smash the bands of marauders; I vault the high fences. What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him makes it.” (2 Samuel 22:29-31 MSG)
God is sending a specific message to all of us for a specific purpose this morning. Most of us have lost special people in the last couple of years or suffered through economic challenges, and on top of that there is more! Satan will try to use this season, a time to rejoice in gladness, to instead reeling in sadness. He will take those Christmas Days that reside way back in the past, the ones that were filled with disappointment, dejection, and depression; the ones you want to forget, and he, talking about the devil, he will try to bring you down with a resurgence of vibrant, bad holiday times, to the point that you do not think you can make it through the holiday season. Well, guess what God will have none of our deceitful enemy’s schemes to suppress you joy. God wants you to declare, aloud, “I ain’t having it! I can make it!” Yes, you can make it! How? Just keep reading what our on-time God has to say to guard you mind and your mature way of handling Satan’s attacks.
This is His message! Depend on God! He will light your thoughts with a flood of reassurances of how our lost loved ones are experiencing life external, in a place of peace! If you seek Him first and His righteousness, you will not have to worry about your needs being supplied. If you read the latter part of Matthew 6, you will know that I am telling the truth. Verse 33 in that chapter says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and He will provide all your needs.” Will He provide food? Yes! Will He provide shelter? Yes! Will He provide clothing? Yes! Stay with the Scriptures, search them further and you will find the answer to some other vital questions. Will He provide joy that floods your soul? Yes! Will He grant you peace beyond comprehension? Yes! Will He help you focus on memories past with a sense of joy, smashing bad memories that try to surface as marauders, bandits, that try to steal your joy? Yes! Depend on God! Remember, what is impossible with men and women, is possible for God! You can make it! Hallelujah!
Will God help you climb, vault, over the walls of grief that still stand before you! Yes! What a God we serve! Stay with Him! Stay on His road that stretches straight and smooth as you discovered above. Follow His directions and go to Him for comfort! Listen you can make it! Everyone who runs toward Him makes it! Thank you, Lord! Hallelujah, one more time!
Keep this meditation handy for when you will need it over the days we call “The Christmas Season.” Look at it as a gift from above, presented by the Lord! Refute the thoughts of unhappiness that are based on the past happenings and focus on the sure salvation of the Lord and the happenings on the tree of saving, the old, rugged cross that brings everybody a reason to have joy, and look forward to an eternity with Him! Our lost loved ones in the Lord are alright!
My friend, remain focused on God’s promises, God’s provisions, and God’s protection! Focus on God’s joy, the joy of which we say, “The world did not give it to me. and the world sure enough cannot take it away!”
Let me say it again! Depend on God! He will help you make it! Yes! Yes! Yes! You can make it! Rejoice always! Rejoice everyday of this season! Be blessed!
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (Romans 15:13 ESV)
Still committed to the climb,
