“He who has ears [to hear], let him hear and heed My words.” (Matthew 12:9 AMP)
When you see that someone is sending you a word from the Lord you have options. You can hear it, but change nothing with your behavior or your thoughts. Whether sent electronically or you hear it verbally, you can block it. However, the best option is to receive it and respond to it. God had a purpose for sending it to you, yes specifically to you. “He who has ears (to hear), let Him hear and heed my words.”
I have one serious, set-apart reader who had some technical difficulty that kept her from receiving my meditations. She rectified that quickly. So this meditation is not applicable to that person. However, I will take advantage of this opportunity to suggest that you act quickly to remedy anything that keeps you from receiving the word. Maybe you have to find a quiet place. Maybe you have to sit a little closer to the front of the sanctuary. Perhaps you have to close your door and place a “Do not disturb” sign on the door. It may be something as simple as adjusting your volume, turning down the woes of your past and your worries of today so that His word may be heard.
The focus today is on individuals who purposely refuse to hear the word because it contradicts their lifestyles, confronts their worldly speculations, or because of a concern that it might convict them to change. Out of the hundreds, an unknown number that exceeds 1,000, there are only four, yes only 4, individuals who have purposely blocked the receiving of these meditations that are intended to help them be God conscious and supplement any other efforts to help them surge higher spiritually and keep from sinking to the depths were the unfaithful reside.
A word in the last sentence in the paragraph below, “sinking,” reminds me of a song sung by Dr. Clay Evans entitled, “Reach Beyond The Break.” The song details how a father’s son went out to swim and he started to struggle and was sinking. Dr. Evans goes on to describe how the father found a rope and threw it out to save his son. The son grabs the rope, but the rope begins to break. The son yells out to his father, informing him what is happening. The father who loved his son so much, told the son, “Just reach beyond the break and hold on.” This is exactly what the Heavenly Father is doing when He sends you a word from on high. He is throwing you a rope. He is trying to keep you from sinking. Now, as in Dr. Evans’ story, as the son had to reach beyond the break, children of our Father which art in heaven, have to reach and grab what He literally throws out to you to keep you from sinking. If you break away from the rope, in other words, if you let go of the rope, you need to calm down, come to the point where you recognize that God is saving you from something, with His word. Just for clarity, know that God’s rope does not break.
Now I am sure you are not one of those who fail to receive and respond to the word of God. Am I right about it? However, there is “somebody you know” who is rejecting the Lord’s help to keep from sinking and to come to a place of safety, come to a place of security, and standing on solid ground; the words that He speaks to you! Spread this news or share this news with someone else. There is somebody, and you know who they are personally, that needs to stop rejecting, blocking the Lord’s word, almost immediately as it is revealed to them. Somebody needs help getting rid of the tendency to reject the word. Why? Because rejection brings with it some avoidable consequences and calamity that can still be averted. Rejection robs one of that which comes from the richness of heaven’s vault of blessings! We all ought to hear, heed, and honor the Lord by acting on the specific word He sends to us. It is for a purpose and that purpose is specifically for you! Somebody you know needs to change their preference and desire the help that comes from the word of the Lord! Have a great day! Be blessed!
“Therefore, The Holy of Israel says this: “Because you scorn this Message, preferring to live by injustice and shape your lives on lies, this perverse way of life will be like a towering, badly built wall that slowly, slowly tilts and shifts, and then one day, without warning, collapses—smashed to bits like a piece of pottery, smashed beyond recognition or repair, useless, a pile of debris to be swept up and thrown in the trash.” (Isaiah 30:12-14 MSG)
Still committed to the climb,
