YOU WERE AMAZED! NOW BE AMAZING!

“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands. Day after day pours forth speech, and night after night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there [spoken] words [from the stars]; their voice is not heard. Yet their voice [in quiet evidence] has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them and in the heavens, He has made a tent for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; it rejoices as a strong man to run his course. The sun’s rising is from one end of the heavens, and its circuit to the other end of them; and there is nothing hidden from its heat.” (Psalm 19:1-6 The Amplified Bible)

Monday, multitudes gathered in many places to see the amazing sight of the eclipse. That was a great experience, but I wondered how may though about the work of God during that time. His work was not mentioned on most of the broadcast or the reports of this event. Yes, it was an amazing sight, but we cannot overlook or dare stop being amazed by God. The eclipse was an experience, but you will have a more amazing experience if you don’t stop being amazed by Elohim, our God who is mighty as revealed in his strength and power in creating the heavens and the earth. Yes, for a few minutes of the day Monday, people of all ages were amazed, but again I admonish you not to stop being amazed by the works of Adonai, the Lord.

That’s primarily what I wanted to communicate this morning, but there is a secondary thought, a “What if?” type of thought. Are you ready? Here is my thought. What if angels had appeared and posed the same question presented to Jesus’ apostles after He commissioned them and following His ascension back into heaven? I think we would have increased our emphasis on evangelism if that had happened.  I think we would not have stopped being amazed and do an amazing work. But even in view of the fact that they did not appear, the question still speaks to us today. Now, go be an amazing witness for the Lord today! The day for just staring into the sky has passed, not it is time to start standing up for Jesus. You were amazed, now be amazing! Love you! Be blessed!

“So, when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?” He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him. As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!” (Acts 1:6-11 NLT Bible)
