YOUR IMPRISONMENT WILL NOT LAST!

“But the high priest stood up, along with all his associates (that is, the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy and resentment. They arrested the apostles and put them in a public jail. But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors, and leading them out, he said, “Go, stand and continue to tell the people in the temple [courtyards] the whole message of this Life [the eternal life revealed by Christ and found through faith in Him].”When they heard this, they went into the temple [courtyards] about daybreak and began teaching. Now when the high priest and his associates arrived, they called together the Council (Sanhedrin, Jewish High Court), even all the council of elders of the sons of Israel, and sent word to the prison for the apostles to be brought [before them].But when the officers arrived, they did not find them in the prison; and they came back and reported, “We found the prison securely locked and the guards standing at the doors, but when we opened [the doors], we found no one inside.” (Acts 5:17-23 The Amplified Bible)

Whenever you feel imprisoned; imprisoned by a condition, a circumstance, chronological changes that cannot be escaped, or the continued bombardment of conflicting cultural happenings, just keep the faith and stay faithful. The Lord will unlock the door that has you imprisoned in due time. Yes. He will free you, open up the door from your imprisonment, and all you will have to do is go through the door and resume carrying out the purpose for which the Lord has left you here on this earth. As with the apostles above, when the Lord unlocks and opens the door that is imprisoning you, be it a psychological door, a relationship door, an economic door, a sociological door, a physical door, or a spiritual door, know that the Lord will unlock that door, and you will be led to go and continue fulfilling your God-given instructions.

If you don’t believe that the Lord opens doors, ask Sarah, whose womb was unlocked when she was past child-bearing years, and she gave birth to a son, Isaac. Ask the Israelites after 430 years in Egyptian Bondage, and then ask them about how the Lord opened the Red Sea and the Jordan River. Ask Joseph who not only cane out of a pit, but a prison to fulfill the purpose God had for him in the palace, to do things that God meant for good while others meant them for bad. Ask Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego! Ask Daniel! Ask Paul and Silas! Ask the woman at the well! Ask the woman with the issue of blood, the one who reached out and touched the hem of Jesus garment. Ask the grieving disciples! I’m telling you, the Lord will bring you out of whatever imprisons you. But the key again is to let Him lead you and guide you after he unlocks the door!

If someone you know is locked in by the imprisonment associated with “The wages of sin is death,” help them get to the open door by your witnessing so they can experience an unlocking and be undeniably assured of the gift of eternal life by being saved by grace through faith.

Oh, it’s Saturday, but go ahead and have a real-time dress rehearsal for worship service tomorrow!  Go ahead and praise God this Saturday morning for all the times that He has already unlocked doors for you and praise Him in advance for all the doors He will unlock in the future. Yes, give Him the glory!  Give Him the praise today and tomorrow in the assembly of the saints! Be blessed!

“Who open’s doors that I cannot see? Jesus will! Jesus will!” (Lyrics from Anita’s Wilson’s “Jesus Will” rendition!)
