YOUR THEME SONG FOR THE WEEK

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.   He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23 KJV)

In this Monday Short meditation, I want to propose that you come up with a personal theme song to keep you going throughout the week.  Perhaps David’s song, Psalm 23 will be your choice.  It is entirely up to you!

Your theme song will serve a purpose. It will raise your daily level of God consciousness.  It will help you achieve heights that you thought you could never reach.  Here is a real life story.  About five years ago, my wife went to Europe to visit our son who was working in England at the time.  He took some vacation days to tour many places in England, Italy,  Greece, and Spain with his fiancé and both their mothers.  While in Spain, they had to climb a high mountain.  “Mom
tells her adventurous son, “I can’t go on.”  In response, he takes up his phone and plays the instrumental theme song from “Rocky,” the movie.  Motivated by the music, she make it to the top.  The theme song helps her stay committed to the climb.  Hearing just the right theme song contributed to her accomplishment which once seemed not achievable.

This week, you may have some spiritual mountains to climb.  You may find yourself in a place in life that you have not been before.  You will be challenged, as will all believers to some degree, to stay committed to the climb.  Your theme song for the week, make it something upbeat, uplifting, and undeniably in agreement with the word of God.  It will contribute to your success.  Try it!

Again, if you have a hard time finding one, I have provided the 23rd Psalm above as a suitable theme song.  Or you can use the song by Betty Griffin-Keller, “You Can Make It.”  Need the words?  Better yet, listen to the song on your artificial intelligence device.  You will be filled with praise and a you will feel a perpetual, powerful push to keep on climbing.  See the lyrics below!  Be blessed!

You can make it!  You can make it!

These trials you’re going through,

God is going to show you what to do!

You can make it!  You can make it!

I don’t care what’s going on!  God is won’t let it last too long!
You’re not in this thing alone!

You can make it!

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
