THE NEW THING IS COMING

“Do not call to mind the former things, or consider things of the past. Behold, I am going to do something new, now it will spring up; will you not be aware of it?” (Isaiah 43:18-19a)

God has done some marvelous, miraculous, mighty powerful things in your life in your former days. Yes, before this day, God has delivered you, directed you, disciplined you to get you on the right track, and developed you progressively as a disciple of Christ. Yes, up until this Sunday morning, God has sustained you, strengthened you, supplied your needs, and saved you from dangers seen and unseen.

We can focus on all that God has done and actually what He is doing. But the good news is that God is not finished with you yet, God is not done saving you from the powers that oppose you, and God is not through shaping you so you can serve Him better! God is not doing some new things in your life. God is not done sending you specific messages! He has one every Sunday1

God is going to do some new things! Some of the things that God is going to do will surprise you. He is going to fix that which was broken. He is going to straighten out things that you thought would stay crooked. He is going to, if you let Him, make your relationships better in your home, at work, at play, and in your everyday social interactions and transactions! God is going to do something new! Get excited about it! Anticipate it! Celebrate it!

Yet, the newest thing that will happen is in the future, at an unknown time, when Christ returns for His people, and when ALL God’s children get together. We may not be aware of just when it will happen. That’s up to God! But go ahead and praise Him for the new things He will do still in this life and for an eternity in the life to come, for you, one of His children. Have a wonderful worship service! Let your joy be seen in the sanctuary! Even if something is going on that is troubling you, don’t fret, stay faithful and you will find out that Father God is going to do some new things for you!

Praise the Lord in the sanctuary! Be blessed!

“Hallelujah! Praise God in his holy house of worship!” (Psalm150:1 The Message Bible)

Committed to the climb,
