A FIVE-MINUTE FRIDAY MORNING WORKOUT

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power.” (Revelation 4a NIV)

Let’s start your day with a five-minute praise workout.  It will keep you from starting your day being preoccupied with problems, pressures, any predicaments, and the plethora of things you have to get done before the pause, referred to as the weekend. Actually, you can do this every day, acknowledging that two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time.  Little did we know what we learned in elementary school science would be knowledge transferable to our spirit-filled lives!  Enough said! Put some praise in your space by means of this five-minute workout!  I’ll act as the workout instructor and you assume the workout position, looking to heaven from whence our help comes from and lift your hand one at a time in a motion of praise after every workout command!  Are you ready to put some fire in your praise! Alright! Here we go!  Come on now!  Let’s get to it!

  • Praise God for another day!
  • Praise Him for all other days, and for bringing you a mighty long way!
  • Praise Him for every high and every low!
  • Praise God, joining the angels on high, yes praise Him here below!
  • Praise Him for being the One from which all blessings flow!
  • Praise Him for direction and protection!
  • Praise God for helping you overcome evil’s temptation!
  • Praise Him for access to the throne of grace!
  • Praise Him for the strength that only He can provide to run this Christian race!
  • Praise Him for being!
  • Praise Him for miracles unseen and seen!
  • Praise God for a reasonable portion of health and strength!
  • Praise God regardless of your earthly domain, be it measured by width or length!
  • Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him!  Don’t you feel better now!
  • Praise Him no matter what, for the Lord will, yes, the Lord will  make a way somehow!

Now before your get going, make your praise personal, more so than what is written above!  Yes, praise Him for some way that He specifically proved the saying to you, “God is love!”  Get your towel! Dry off your brow!  Wipe off the sweat that poured through your pores!  Enjoy your day and notice that even this Friday, He will open some more doors!  Be blessed!

“Blessed be God— he heard me praying. He proved he’s on my side; I’ve thrown my lot in with him.

Now I’m jumping for joy, and shouting and singing my thanks to him.” (Psalm 28:6-7 MSG)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
