Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever; they will wear out like old clothing. You will change them like a garmentand discard them. But you are always the same; you will live forever.” (Psalm 102:25-27 NLT)
We know that God does not change. He is changeless! He is love! He is good! He is merciful! He is the source of every good and perfect blessing! He still works things out for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose! He is still Sovereign, Supreme, and Strength for the weak, the weary, and those wrestling with worldly enticements! He is changeless! Yes, He still watches our going out and our coming back in! He’s still is a very present help in times of trouble! He still hears the prayers of the saints and He answers, right on time! He is still a Way Maker, a wonderful source when one needs to be lifted up! Oh humble yourself to Him. For when you go down in humility, He exalts you; He lifts you up! There is so much to say, but as they say, “I can’t tell it all!” He is worthy of all our praise and that’s for sure! Say “Amen” this Saturday morning! Shout “Hallelujah” wherever you are right now; physically, socially, emotionally, or economically! Realize that if God, who is on our side, was not changeless, where would we be! Yes, go ahead and shout one more time…even if you are at work this morning!
But let’s go further than that my friend! Let’s recognize that God is not only changeless, but God changes! “What you talking about pastor?” Well, let me explain! Stop and think about all the changes He has made and is making in you! Think of all those changes that made you better! Don’t wait until tomorrow in church to get happy about it! Get happy right now! Think about the changes that you did not understand, but as things unfolded you were reassured that the Lord really desires the best for you! Think about the “never saw it coming” changes that took place when you answered the call of God in Jesus Christ and you were saved from the penalty of sin, the power of sin and the presence of sin! Think about the changes that He is still making in your life as He molds you and shapes you! Think of how He changed your thought process, moving you to not lean on your own understanding! Think about how He sustained you through your problems, predicaments, perils, pandemic effects and persecutions! Think of how the words of the songwriter have been manifested and proven in your life: “Be not dismayed, whatever betides, God will; God will; God will take care of you! A shout of joy goes right here!
Go enjoy your Saturday now, knowing that God is smiling on you! Go out or even if you stay in, remember God is changeless and God changes! Tomorrow, see if He does not do some more changing in your life or how you view the circumstances in your life. The circumstances are not in control! God is! That part of His changeless nature! Be part of the change! God down in prayer and be lifted up my friend! Be blessed!
“God cannot tell lies! And so his promises and vows are two things that can never be changed. We have run to God for safety. Now his promises should greatly encourage us to take hold of the hope that is right in front of us. This hope is like a firm and steady anchor for our souls. In fact, hope reaches behind the curtainand into the most holy place. Jesus has gone there ahead of us, and he is our high priest forever, just like Melchizedek.” (Hebrews 6:18-20 CEV)
Still committed to the climb,
