When it comes to buying sheets, according to Good Housekeeping. testing in the Textiles Lab, reveals that the best cotton sheets often have thread counts between 300 and 500. Anything above 500 isn’t necessarily better, and you should be skeptical of a thread count substantially over 1,000. On the flip side, you can still find quality sheets with thread counts under 300. And even though their tests have shown that the 300-to-500 thread count range is a sweet spot, a sheet that falls within this range isn’t guaranteed to be high quality.
I looked this up because in trying to emphasize that unity in a church is an imperative quality in a congregation knitted together as one, united by being part of the Scarlet Threat of salvation. Why? Because that church can do great things. Revisiting some of my days as a child, I remember having a cotton sheet that I am sure did not meet the thread count range above. We did not have a top sheet, only a bottom sheet and it was not soft, particularly so in winter days when it felt like you could cut your leg if you did not move carefully, slowly, and strategically. Actually, I did not learn about the value of thread counts until I was 50 years old! Now that I have read what Good Housekeeping reported, I will not keep looking for sheets with a thread count of 1,000 – 2,000, knowing that they are not necessarily better. I cannot overlook the added component known as quality.
Let me make this relevant on this Sunday morning. The people count of member in attendance at your church, even though you are striving to grow, not to fill the pews, but to fill the list of souls who have been saved, know that however many members you have, just stay knitted together as one. If you do, your church can do great things. Even if your people count is below the 200-500 range, and perhaps is in the 40-70 count range, you can still do great things. I hope I made a point. Just remember, with God and through faith, you can take small means and bring about great results.
For those of you who are church shopping, remember, it is not the people count, but it is the quality of the ministries of the church. Look for what really “counts.” That being where the word is proclaimed, explained, and where there is a theme similar to this one, “A loving church where lives are transformed through the Word of God.”

The higher the thread count, the better the quality of the sheets. I learned something new today. Also I thought that the more people that belong to a church, the more work could be achieved. Yesterday there were seven present at our visit to Sister Tinsley. This included one male, Pastor Marcus. Even though the count was lower than other visits, the fellowship was amazing. Salt Of The Earth is a loving church where lives are transformed through the word of God. Amen.
