FIFTY SHADES OF GREAT

God does great things in our lives, every single day. To appreciate this, we need to recognize the varying shades of greatness. For you see “great things” are not always “big things. But regardless of the shade of great, we should be thankful and filled with joy. Just like the shades of the color grey that may range from 30- 600 shades, depending on conditions, the shades of great for each of us varies by the conditions in life that we face. I don’t know your personal conditions but let me attempt to point out some of the shades of great that you can identify with this very day. When I am done, you should not only feel like praising God, but you should actually praise Him for the great things He has done and/or is doing! Here we go!

1. The Lord woke you up this morning!  That’s a great thing!
2. You were still in the land of the living! That’s a great thing!
3. Regardless of the type of dwelling that you stayed in last night; you had shelter because you continue to seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness! That’s a great thing!
4. The Holy Spirit reminded you that this is a new day that you have never seen before! That’s a great thing!
5. The reminder of the Spirit lifted your spirit and caused you to rejoice! That’s a great thing!
6. You did not get it all right yesterday, but the Lord, rich in mercy, presented you with another opportunity to get it right! That’s a great thing!
7. If you had a failing yesterday, you benefitted from the fact that you could confess your sins and that the Lord would forgive you and cleanse you of all unrighteousness. That’s a great thing!
8. You might have had to go into that place where you dread going this morning or you might have been a little nervous about a presentation that you had to make, but you remembered that the Word said, “Ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall not fear for Thou art with me.” That’s a great thing!
9. You experienced new mercies already! That’s a great thing!
10. You had clothes to put on, maybe the same clothes or some new clothes. That does not matter! Still… that’s a great thing!
11. You were blessed with the right to approach boldly the throne of God from which grace emanates! That’s a great thing!
12. The Lord heard your prayer! That’s a great thing!
13. The Lord reminded you that no matter what you are going through, all things will work out for good because you love the Lord and you were called according to His purpose! That’s a great thing!
14. The Lord trusts you to be His witness today! That’s a great thing!
15. The Lord put you in your right mind!  That’s a great thing1
16. You had the activity of your limbs! That’s a great thing!
17. You had some type of food on your table! That’s a great thing!
18. Temptation will come, but you know that with temptation, the Lord will give you a way out! That’s a great thing!
19. God is on your side! That’s a great thing!
20. In ways we don’t often give God credit, He intervened in your life today already from dangers unseen. That’s a great thing!
21. God has smiled on you in more than one way! That’s a great thing!
22. Even when you are missing a loved one, the Lord has blessed you with the ability to recall precious memories! That’s a good thing!
23. If only by reading this meditation, a specific message sent for you, you have read sone profitable scripture that will transform you today! That’s a good thing!
24. It’s Tuesday, but you realize that the Lord speaks to you, not just on Sunday, but every day! That’s a great thing!
25. Whatever you are experiencing, you realize that your experiences are just a part of your unfolding story. Furthermore, you know that you really don’t know what God is doing until He is done! That’s a great thing!
26. The Lord saved you from the penalty of sin! That’s a great thing!
27. The Lord saved you from the power of sin! That’s a great thing!
28. In this life, if you watch who you walk with, stand with, and sit with, the Lord will save you from the presence of sin!
29. One day, you will reach the celestial shores of heaven! You are sure of that future! You know the Lord has prepared a place for you! That’s a great thing!
30. You might face a task that seems too hard, but you won’t give up because you will remember that the Lord is with you and nothing is impossible, nothing is too hard, for God! That’s a great thing!
    My friend, I know you are saying, “Where are the other shades of great? You only listed thirty! Well, that’s by design! I want you to list the other twenty shades of great that you have benefited from on this day!  Rejoice! Be blessed!
