I’M A POSTER CHILD NOW!

As part of my project to decorate my workspace, I ordered three posters with white print on a black background. One of the posters focuses on “SUCCESS,” and another one focuses on “AMBITION.” Those were good, but the one that stood out to me the most focuses on “DISCIPLINE,” a noun. It reads, “Hard work beats talent. Work hard in silence. Let your success make the noise.” I hung it under the wall clock that is behind my desk. Hence, I will see it every time I approach my writing desk to set down to do some work. I’m sure that these words will take on different meanings on different days, but this is the meaning I derived today:

  • God values hard work over raw talent, and He will reward our being steadfast in our work.
  • Don’t work to receive the applause or accolades from others. God will see your work, and it will speak loudly to His ears.
  • Practice discipline. By doing so you will satisfy your ambition to please God, and you will experience success as you press on toward the mark.

No that I’m a poster child, let’s get you involved. How does my “DISCIPLINE” poster speak to you? I’ll be looking for your response on the Mark Writes website. Have a great day! Be blessed!

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” (Colossians 3:23 NIV)

Committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
