Even though I am sending this to you on Saturday afternoon, this is your Sunday meditation! Please read this before laying back down tomorrow the morning! Also, please forward this to someone, anyone, everyone else in your network of friends and family who have strayed away or who have stayed away from church!
Look! If only because you wake up in the morning, you have something to be thankful for on the Lord’s Day! After all He has done for you, listen to this invitation to join worshippers at the church house: ““O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving.”
Listen! Understanding that your presence, even if you are going through something, even if you just got off work, know that just you being in attendance will encourage someone else in their struggles. You are not the only one dealing with stuff. Therefore, I implore you, beg you to listen to the Spirit speak to your heart as you read these verses: “So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.”
Linger in thought for a minute, thinking about the reality of these inspired words as they apply to you: “If the Lord had not been on our side (let all Israel admit it), if the Lord had not been on our side, we would have been swallowed alive by our enemies, destroyed by their anger. We would have drowned beneath the flood of these men’s fury and pride.”
Lastly, if you live in the Indianapolis area, and you don’t have a church home, I invite you to worship with me at Salt Of The Earth Church, 4925 W. 36th Street. This is a loving church where lives are transformed by the word of God. Be blessed!
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:1-2 NASB)
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
I’m so sad that I didn’t get to read this on Saturday. It is still very meaningful.Look, listen, and linger. And lastly don’t forget to invite or bring someone to church on Sunday. It was a day of rejoicing today at Salt Of The Earth Church.
Love the “L” words! “Look, listen, linger, and lastly!” Be blessed!
