This is your Monday Short meditation, being published just hours after the conclusion of the running of the Indianapolis 500 Race. Approximately 300,000 fans attended the race. The fans ranged from the fairly intense fans to, fair-weather fans, to fun-seeking fans.
Now, keeping it short, referring to the three types of fans above and the scripture below thing about what kind of fan you are of the Christian race. I hope you answered with one of these two responses: (1) “I’m a fan of every Christian who is running the race, just like me, encouraging all the participants that I can.” (2) “I don’t consider myself a fan at all! I am in a faithful participant in the race, running with perseverance! Be blessed!
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2 1-2 NIV)
