REQUEST A RUSH ORDER IF YOU WANT TO!

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2a NIV)”

Did you know that the fast-forwarding feature of your electronic device is not a new thing and that it actually was first used in 1948?  Did you know that “Rush Shipping” speeding up or reducing the total number of days it requires a package to arrive from the factory to your doorstep has been around in some form or the other for years?

I was talking to my baby daughter, the Executive Director of Surgery at a major hospital Friday about Covid-19.  She has seen the reality and the severity of the pandemic we are experiencing.  Even people close to her have encountered it and her hours at the hospital have been overloaded with cases of people suffering from the virus.  We talked about the reality of the virus and how we were both in awe of the fact that some people have been misled to believe, even as they lay and suffer in their beds, that there is no pandemic.  We talked about hearing people say, “When it’s my turn to die; when the Lord calls me home, I’ll die.”  I said, “There is a time to be born and a time to die.”  My daughter retorted rapidly with real concern and compassion, “But you don’t have to put in a rush order!”  I said, “You have given me inspiration for a meditation.”  So here it is on this Monday morning!

Let’s show love for one another!  Let value life!  I know you have heard it before, but let me say it, please.  Follow the advice of credible medical and scientific experts when it comes to doing what we can do to stop the spread of the virus and people dying; dying daily at a pace higher than the death toll of the 911 tragedy.  Baby girl is right.  We don’t need to put in any rush orders.  Yes, I’m using this platform to minister to the whole person!  Wear your masks!  Put them on before you get to the door of the retail store or other public places.  Somebody is coming right behind you!  Wipe off your carts!  Wash your hands frequently!  Sanitize, even in your home!  Practice social distancing!  And get this most important one; pray that the Lord will come to our rescue.  He has done it before and He will do it again!  I hope you are not one of the “rush order” people, but rather a real Christian who is a good steward of your own body and family, and one who practices Jesus’ words in determining your behaviors.  See the closing verse!  Have a safe week!  Bless others!  No I am not a medical doctor, but I have stayed at the foot of Jesus’ teachings; sat at the feet of the Doctor who has never lost a patient.  Be blessed!

“A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35 NIV)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
