“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever; the Helper is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.” (John 14:16-18 NASB)
This is your Sunday Share meditation. This past Sunday, Pastor M.R. King preached the fourth and last sermon in a God-inspired series, “The Jesus Franchise,” at Salt Of The Earth Church (Indianapolis, Indiana). After sermons titled, “The Great Commission,” “The Great Start.” And “The Great Commitment,” Pastor King delivered a powerful, sent message, “The Great Help.” The text is above. But I encourage you to visit the church’s Facebook and YouTube sites to hear the last message in the series in its entirety. Check it out and learn about, “Help Promised,” “Help Present,” and “Help Is Personal.” You will be blessed if you do and you will realize that you have a great Help to assist you in carrying out the Great Commission, in experiencing growth as part of a great start in any aspect of ministry that you are involved in at your church, and in staying with your commitment to deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Jesus.
Pastor reassured all who had ears to hear that our Helper is not a temporary Helper. He is one, the same kind as the Master. “Another,” like Jesus. The Helper is none other than the Holy Spirit! He will teach you, bring to remembrance what you have learned from the scriptures, comfort you, cause you to straighten up, keep you from letting the flesh twist up your thinking, and more! Believer, you don’t have to look around for your Helper! Just look inside! He dwells within you!
Have a great day! But before you go any further, say the following words out loud, “Help me Holy Spirit!” As my youngest son likes to say, borrowing from church talk that he picked up as a young child, “Won’t He do it!” The answer? Yes! Be blessed!
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and remind you of all that I said to you.” (John 14:26 NASB)
Committed to the climb,
Mark L. King
