THINGS YOU CAN BELIEVE

“And they answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus [as your personal Savior and entrust yourself to Him] and you will be saved, you and your household [if they also believe].” (Acts 16:31 AMP)

Unless you don’t mind wrinkles in your clothes, don’t believe all the tags on your garments that say, “Wash and Wear” or “Never Needs Ironing.”  That skillet that was advertised with a promise that it will never leave burn marks, don’t believe it.  All the stuff you brought on the “As Seen On TV” aisle at the local big box store, don’t believe it.  I’m still trying to get a piece of tile to stay put with a promoted super adhesive product.  And what about all those hidden garments, hair growth products, and even the “holy” water that once purchased will result in thousands of dollars in your mailbox?  My point: You cannot believe everything!

But there are a couple of things you can go out believing today and these things will make you feel better today and secure in your faith.  You can believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.  As I have said on many occasions, that belief will save you from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and the presence of sin…even in this life, as well as in our eternal home.  You can also believe in the Word of God for what it says is true and our source for training in righteousness.

So go start your day living and believing in Christ Jesus and depending on the Word of God.  Be blessed!

“But don’t let it faze you. Stick with what you learned and believed, sure of the integrity of your teachers—why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother’s milk! There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.” (2 Timothy 3:14-17 MSG)

Still committed to the climb,

Mark L. King
