Friday I opened up my computer to my Yahoo page. There was an article heading that of course would cause all of us to check out the full content. Perhaps you saw it, a piece written by Jaimie Ethkin on October 1. One of the most well known, creditable doctors we have relied on for guidance through our current pandemic was reported to have said four words we have been waiting to hear: “This outbreak will end.”
The pandemic is not over yet, but the doctor signals the end will come. Let me add four additional words for you to read and respond accordingly to, words not found verbatim in the Bible, but definitely communicated within the pages of the Holy Scriptures. Are you ready? Well here they are: “This too shall pass.” Okay, I’m a preacher so I can’t just leave it there, even though you are about to go worship and hear a more extensive, extended, and explained word sent from God this Sunday morning. So let me point out one observation in regards to the end of the crisis and/or any personal calamity that you are going through. To possess the “this too shall pass” confidence and, we must as a people, members of a holy nation; we must draw closer to God as described in the opening and closing verses in this morning’s meditation.
Check them out! Think about them…seriously! Make these words known to others in the kingdom! Use the explanation that warrants the justification of having the “this too shall pass confidence” to change the lives of people who are lost, as well as those who have been stolen or who have strayed from the church! Enjoy service today and embrace serving the Lord our God! Be blessed!
